Shafna Sherin NC is a consultant Psychologist from Malappuram, Kerala, with a
Post Graduation in Applied Psychology from the University of Kerala,
Kariavattom Campus.
She has trained and worked in diverse settings, including as a Clinical
Psychology intern at the Government Mental Health Centre, Thrissur, where she
conducted psychological assessments (ADHD, ASD, intelligence tests, anxiety
scales, learning disorder assessments, OCD and Personality assessments),
intake interviews, and counseling sessions under supervision. She also gained
significant experience with children with ASD, ADHD, and Intellectual Disabilities
during field visits at NIPMR and Buds School, strengthening her interest in
developmental and child psychology.
Shafna has contributed to mental health education by conducting workshops on
stress management, digital addiction, and life skills for students, parents, and
teachers. She has mentored psychology aspirants, coordinated mental health programs, presented research at international seminars, and participated in
community-based initiatives promoting psychological well-being.
Her primary areas of interest include child and adult mental health. Her
therapeutic approach is largely person-centred, reflecting her belief that every
individual has the capacity to heal and grow when provided with a safe,
empathetic, and non-judgmental space. She also has experience in supportive
therapy, enhancing her ability to provide comfort and guidance during
challenging times.
